  1. TITICACA LAKE – A NATURAL WONDER 1 DAY


    The Titicaca Lake is the highest navigable lake in the world, declared as a Natural World Heritage; is shared by the neighboring countries of Peru and Bolivia. In Peru is located in the region of Puno in which there are very majestic islands such as: Taquile, Amantaní and Uros, prepared for tourism which maintain their traditions and customs.

     

    Lake Titicaca shows in its cold blue waters its wide natural wealth; as well as fantastic places that keep their history and tradition intact. Tourism seeks the development of life in this place to preserve its culture and its incredible landscapes. Peru Amazonico offers rural or community tourism of 1 day in the Lake Titicaca circuit, providing a quality service throughout the tour.

     

    PROGRAM:

     

    DAY 01 (PUNO PORT – UROS (THE FLOATING ISLANDS) - TAQUILE ISLAND):

    We begin our tour picking you up from your hotels at 7:30 am; and we will be driven to the port of Puno where we will board our boat for the tour on Lake Titicaca. 30 minutes after the first stop will be on the floating islands of the Uros. Located 30 minutes by boat from the main port, then we will begin our visit with the recognition of the island, explaining how they built, on the highest lake in the world (built with totora), as well as its importance.

     

    The second visit of the day will be on the island of Taquile. "Taquile", the trip by boat lasts 1 hour, where we will have the opportunity to meet the people of Taquile, very cooperative and well organized. The Taquileños recognized worldwide by a high degree of advancement in Textile, have been awarded by UNESCO. It should be noted that yarns and fabrics are made mainly by men from eight years old onwards.

     

    UROS.- . Inhabited by the Aymaras, this place is considered one of the oldest Andean civilizations, since it arose long before the incas; Fishing, bartering and their crafts are part of their economy. Approximate visit: 1.5 hours.

     

    TAQUILE.- Life in Taquile has not undergone major changes due to modernity; the island is inhabited by Quechua speakers who still exchange products; however, agriculture, textiles and handicrafts are its main economic source. Approximate visit: 3 hours.

     

    END OF THE TOUR APPROXIMATELY AT 05:00 PM. (PUNO CITY).
